๐Ÿ“•ย The Best Gifts Are Free (Our Holiday Gift Ideas)ย

December 1, 2020

We send out a new story or chapter free each week!

Heya <<First Name>>,

I hope you had a really nice week.

We did, all things considered. It was full of books, food, safe family time, and all kinds of messy blessings

Plus, we were busy! We’ve got three books scheduled for publication in the coming weeks, and we can’t wait to tell you when they’re ready. For now, you can read complete versions of the first two free online: “How Foxes Got Their Meander” and “Messy Blessings.”

There’s a third book we’ll be releasing shortly. To be honest, I don’t know what to think of it.

But it makes me happy.

It’s called “Word Things.” The inspiration was when I took a train to Portland, OR, one time and we were passed by a train coming the other way.

“Hmm,” I thought. “Trains passing.” (Brilliant, right?) Then, since I can’t draw, I wrote in my Moleskine:

TRAINSPASSING
GNISSAPSNIART

After that, I started looking around at all the ideas or objects you could represent with simple text alterations.

Flash forward two years and voila: “Word Things”!

Most are in black-and-white …

Some are in color …

One thing I do know, is that they look good on shirts! (See below.)

You can get them via our Teespring site. And, (cough, cough) … they make great holiday gifts. But do you know what makes the best gifts?

Books make the BEST gifts

When you’re shopping this year, toss in one of our stories. Nothing’s better than reading aloud with a kid.

Except a quokka.

Click on the images below and order your copy.

Talk to you soon!

Happy reading,

Jeff, Bob, and Zoe

Current reads: “Hoot” (Jeff); “Systematic: How Systems Biology Is Transforming Modern Medicine” (Bob); “Scharlette Doesn’t Matter and Goes Time Travelling” (Zoe).

Word Things make great tees

Full disclosure: Next year we hope to use professional models. Till then, this guy …

The word’s the thing,
or so you’ve heard.
Unless, that is,
the thing’s the word.

But they’re the same,
as you can see,
when you put on
a Word Things tee.
